All placement updates and performance concerns should be communicated directly to the Office of Field Experiences (not through course instructors).
If issues arise, contact your Field Supervisor promptly to develop an action plan. Unresolved concerns should be directed to the Director of Field Experiences.
CEs should review lesson plans weekly before instruction to ensure alignment with standards, objectives, and instructional goals. Providing timely feedback helps your intern strengthen their planning and instructional delivery skills.
You will meet with your intern and Field Supervisor to discuss progress, strengths, and areas for continued growth. You will receive the evaluation forms by email in advance, and your input will directly inform the intern’s final grade recommendation.
Once your training and required forms are complete, you will receive a $150 honorarium for hosting an intern towards the end of the semester. A W-9 and check request are required and will be collected through Adobe Sign (from abchapman@wcu.edu). These emails are legitimate and safe to complete.
At the end of the semester (during the final two weeks), you will receive a link to a brief survey about your Field Supervisor. Your feedback helps WCU improve support for both CEs and interns. Although your name is collected, it is removed before data is reported, ensuring your responses remain anonymous.
