Get Your Student Lift Tickets
Every student club member 7-18 years old receives lesson tickets with their club membership cards that can be used for 2 free ski lessons or 2 free snowboard lessons on their membership club nights (Wednesday for WBSchussers / Friday for WBShredders).
Additional lessons can be purchased on club nights for $25 each from the club sponsor or ski school desk. (Note that pricing is for cash or debit only; all credit card purchases are subject to a 3% surcharge.)
The lessons start PROMPTLY at 6 pm every club night and last 50 minutes. Students must stand in line outside by 5:45 pm at the flag corresponding to the color patch they are trying to earn and have their red lesson ticket ready.
If your child is renting equipment, please arrive at Alpine Valley by 5 pm or earlier.

Responsibility Code: Use devices to prevent runaway equipment.
Skiers: First time skiers. Introduction to skiing, walking, sliding, riding on the Magic carpet and tow rope. Equipment safety. Learn to stop.
Snowboarders: First time snowboarders, Introduction to snowboarding, stance, skating, skate and glide, edging and gliding on the flats. Equipment safety. Learn to stop.
Responsibility Code: Stop in a safe place for you and others.
Skiers: Proper use of the magic carpet, learn how to step off in the middle, J-turns, intro to linking turns.
Snowboarders: Proper use of magic carpet, heel side/toe side slips from top of carpet, intro to linked turns.
Responsibility Code: Downhill or merging, look uphill and yield.
Skiers: Mastering linked turns, able to do linked turns from top of beginner hill.
Snowboarders: Beginners of linked turns, must be in control from top of beginner hill.
Responsibility Code: Always stay in control.
Skiers: Introduction to the chairlift and learn how to stay in control on a bigger hill. Start to learn how to match skis.
Snowboarders: Introduction to the chairlift and learn how to stay in control on a bigger hill. Complete linked turns.
Responsibility Code: Know how to use lifts safely.
Skiers: Get completely out of wedge, reduce the amount of skidding, some upper and lower body separation.
Snowboarders: Improve linked turns, less skidding, more edge control.
Responsibility Code: People ahead of you have the right of way.
Skiers: Learn to use Poles, upper and lower body separation, angulation, no more skidded turns, better edge control.
Snowboarders: Carved traverses, flat terrain tipping, linked carved turns of various sizes and shapes.
Responsibility Code: Observe signs and warning and keep off closed trails. Must know all the code to pass this lesson.
Skiers: Smooth, rhythmic short radius turns, correct body position.
Snowboarders: Cross-Over and Cross-Under exercises, angulation, rhythmic, linked carved turns, no traverses between turns.
While student group lessons are not available in December, private and semi-private are available through the Alpine Valley ski school. The posted rates (2025/2026) are $80 for a private 1-hour student lesson. Semi-private lessons are also available. Visit the Alpine Valley website for more details.
