I actively communicate my research to the public in various ways. Recently, I was invited to be a speaker at the global INCONECSS Conference in Berlin, the Open Access Days in Cologne and as a panelist at the German Economics Association Annual Conference [Vereinstagung] at TU Berlin.
I regularly write op-eds and guest posts about my work, e.g., for the London School of Economics Impact Blog, or INOMICS. I comment on topical economic policy issues in Germany, e.g., in the news outlet The Pioneer, where I serve as an economic expert, or in the policy-focused economics journal Wirtschaftsdienst.
Furthermore, I engage with the media to inform journalists about the research findings of my publications. Outlets that covered my work are The Economist, The Guardian, The i newspaper, The London Times, Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung, FOCUS, n-tv, Rheinische Post, Frankfurter Rundschau, Business Insider, or The Pioneer. My work on the productivity effects of Covid-19 has also been featured in impactful books. Lastly, I publicly communicate my work in online lectures and seminars, such as ROSES (see the recordings below) or an expert panel of the OASPA association. By doing so, I even reached out to leading politicians, such as the German Federal Secretary of Health.
My work is academically recognized. Google Scholar currently lists 179 citations and an H index of 7 (at least 7 papers of mine have been cited at least 7 times).
