What is a Waze Cafe?

Waze Cafes are small (10-15 participants), community-organized events where local editors meet to collaborate on any editing/community issues.

When is my community's Waze Cafe?

If your community has a confirmed date for a Waze Cafe, it will be listed on the Community Events Page where you can find a link for 2024.

Can a community organize more than one Waze Cafe per year? 

Yes! Each community has the flexibility to organize up to 2 Waze Cafes per year, with the option of including travel reimbursements. Alternatively, you can host up to 4 Waze Cafes without travel reimbursements.

Important Note: The default option is to have 2 Waze Cafes per year with reimbursement. If a community chooses the second option of hosting 4 Waze Cafes without reimbursement, they are required to communicate this in advance.

How do I plan a Waze Cafe? 

Your community leadership, Champs, Coordinators & Culture Chair are responsible for reaching out to your Waze Community Manager to register the event.


How much time in advance does Waze need to know about the meetup? 

Waze needs to know at least 4 weeks in advance. 

What's covered by Waze? 

Waze covers the cost of food/beverage (dinner/lunch). Please note that Waze Cafes are typically held in casual environments such as restaurant / coffee place. Waze will not reimburse venues such as hotel conference spaces.

Waze will cover your travel expenses, up to $50 per person. In order to get a reimbursement for your travels, please keep the receipt and fill out this form.

Waze does not send Swag for Waze Cafes

Will Waze staff come to our Waze Cafe?

Generally Waze staff members do not attend Waze Cafes.
