The event usually spans 1.5 days, with the actual Meetup program lasting about 7 hours.

If your community's Meetup date has been registered and approved, it will be listed on the Meetup Calendar and on the list of registered Meetups accessible via the Community Events page.

Any Editor who would like to get more involved in their local Waze Community can register to attend. Registrations are approved by the local community leadership. Local Meetups can accommodate up to 30 in-person participants and regionals up to 40 (subjet to change)
Each editor may attend one local meetup per year in their own country/region.

How are they planned?

Meetups are planned by community leadership. To find out more about the plans for your community and offer to help out, reach out to your Community Coordinator on your Local Community Forum.

Your community leadership (Champs and Coordinators) are responsible for setting an agenda and reaching out to Waze's Communities Operation Manager to register the event.

Waze needs to know at least 4 months in advance in order to provide the necessary planning resources.

Who chooses the venue?
Who chooses the venue?
Community leadership and Waze staff work together on the location and venue to ensure the event is easily accessible to community members. The community does not need to submit venue proposals.

Venues will be chosen 3-4 months prior to the event. We will do our best to choose one of the hotels recommended by the community.

What's covered by Waze?

One night stay at the event hotel per community member, and food and beverage during the meeting (breakfast, lunch and 2 coffee breaks).

Transportation cost is covered to the city where the Meetup is being held, but will not cover the cost of additional transit to the Meetup location (taxi, rental car, etc.)

Travel insurance is not included. Participants of the event need to remember to activate their travel insurance policy.

When possible, Hybrid Local Meetups will have official remote representation from Waze Staff. Official in-person representation will be on a case by case basis.
