President Trump's attempts to rule through oppression have called Americans across the nation to respond through morally grounded and nonviolent protest. If he believes we will roll over and let him take our freedoms, he is mistaken. We are coming together on March 28th to make clear: In America, we don’t do Kings.
Governing through fear and intimidation is the opposite of democracy.
Our rights are being taken in front of our very eyes – and in this moment, our silence becomes permission.
Freedoms were never handed to us — they were fought for, and won. For generations, our country’s communities have battled to secure fundamental freedom and dignity for all of us, and now President Trump is targeting, terrorizing, and destabilizing them.
While families are crushed by the rising costs of groceries, housing and healthcare, the administration has supercharged funding for ICE to terrorize our communities. A government that truly cared about safety would invest in people and schools, not give massive giveaways to billionaires while sending masked agents into our streets.
Our country does not belong to strongmen, greedy billionaires, or those who rule through fear and violence. It belongs to the people.
We, the people, have the power and are claiming it together. No Thrones. No Crowns. No Kings.
When our families are under attack and costs are pushing people to the brink, silence is not an option. We will defend ourselves and our communities against this administration’s unjust and cruel acts of violence.
On March 28th, rise up, take to the streets, and say it loud: no thrones, no crowns, no kings. We’re not watching history happen—we’re making it. For further information, see this blog post, reposted below.
We stand and walk along the sidewalk side of Midway Avenue, Grand Coulee, WA 99133, usually from Main Street to Van Tyne Street, but we can expand the length of Midway Avenue if needed. For NO KINGS, the event starts at 11:00 am and ends at 1:00 PM.
You will find our WayFinders Booth with information and a food drive at Morrison Street & Midway Avenue, across from Safeway.
Please park on public streets, not in business parking lots.
There are no public rest rooms. The National Park Service has a rest room at Cresent Bay.
A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
No Kings has provided several trainings; if you’d like more information about safety, songs, and constitutional rights, here’s a consolidation of the trainings for a safe event: No Kings Event: Nonviolent Peaceful Assembly.

We the People
Love Thy Neighbor
We Keep Us Safe
Observe and orient yourself to the surroundings and to others.
Smile, enjoy yourself, make new friends. We have signs, music.
Stay on the sidewalks, allowing pedestrians to pass. Keep intersections and driveway areas clear.
If you have a question, want to know where bathrooms, etc. are, or need assistance, see the WayFinders Booth across from Safeway. Look for our peacekeepers in orange vests.
The WayFinders Booth has "Know Your Rights" info.
Nonviolent, lawful actions are expected. No weapons allowed.
If someone wants to interview you, be aware that influencers try to use your words against our peaceful mission.
If someone starts to disrupt the walk, ignore them, walk away, and notify a peacekeeper. Ignore words and gestures from cars driving by. Keep the focus on peace and joy: let your sign protest.
If we need to disperse the crowd, peacekeepers will direct people across the street on crosswalks to Safeway or the hardware store, and the chief peacekeeper will notify police.
Please walk, remain calm, and help others to safety.
History shows: When we stand together nonviolently, we win.
March 25
NO KINGS Event
Saturday, March 28th from 11 am to 1 PM on Midway Avenue in Grand Coulee, WA is a big day, NO KINGS Day.
I hope to see you there!
My Story: Why I’ll be there:
I’ll be there because my grandparents or great-grandparents were immigrants, some of my friends are immigrants, some of my friends are LBGTQ, some of my friends’ kids are trans, some of my friends are Native Americans, and some of my friends are women. All of these friends are being discriminated against by the current regime.
I’ll be there because I’ve seen the news and heard the stories of the treatment of people at Trump concentration camps. I’ve read about children watching their parents be arrested — parents without any criminal record who are following the difficult and expensive process to become citizens. I can feel the pain of loss and the frustration of trying to do the right thing to build a better life.
I’ll be there because I have a grandson in the army, probably headed to the illegal, poorly executed, and immoral war led by seemingly religious fanatics in the current regime. He’s all for protecting America, but we were not threatened. Imagine how his parents feel, or how he feels.
I’ll be there because the current regime is not funding the programs Congress has already legislated, and the regime continues to fire people with the historical knowledge and professional ethics to execute the policies and programs that Congress has determined to be important for the people of these United States. Some programs can no longer keep up with helping clients with questions— there are not enough people to do the job. Health care, social security, data privacy, Veterans programs, state’s election processes — everything is under siege against us, the people-- while billionaires rake in profits.
And, have I mentioned the results of tariffs — the prices, the inflation?
How about you — how are you feeling about the world these days?
Saturday is a chance to share your story. It’s a chance to meet others with similar worries. And it’s a chance to join others in a joyful, peaceful, lawful, nonviolent protest together, along with so many others across our country.
This is a time to connect and share your voice. Will you be there?
Come join us. Wear your inflatables. Come with a group and your own chant. We have signs. We have music. We will walk or stand with our signs on the sidewalk side of Midway Avenue without blocking streets or driveways. We can expand all the way along Midway Avenue on the sidewalks.
Walk Info
Please park on public streets, not in business parking lots.
If a disruptor interrupts you, let a peacekeeper in bright orange vests know. They know how to handle the situation. We want to be joyful and not give social media influencers fodder for their business and against our ideals.
See the WayFinders booth for information - we’re across the street from Safeway.
Dress for changing weather; bring water and a snack along with your smiles! Come meet new friends.
Bring your joy and smiles! And most of all, bring your stories and be ready to hear from others. See you there!

March 20
Let’s get ready for NO KINGS March 28th.
America has no kings and the power belongs to the people.
On March 28th from 11 am to 1 PM on Midway Avenue in Grand Coulee, exercise your First Amendment rights of free speech and protest with safety and nonviolence as top priority so as not to give grounds for the regime to use against us and to honor and respect the nonviolent lessons and actions of the past.
Let’s be joyful! Wear your inflatables! Bring a group with your own chant or song. Introduce yourself to others. Wave. Be happy! Make connections!
If you’ve been to one of our walks and you see a new participant, would you show them the WayFinders booth? Please help to orient them to our peaceful, lawful non-violent event -- holding signs on the sidewalk without blocking driveways and intersections. Let them know about our “peacekeepers” in vests. Remind them not to interact with hecklers-- we’re looking for joy together! Thank you for helping keep all of us safe.

Important Info:
We ask you to ignore those who disagree and to use de-escalation strategies to defuse any situations. We keep us safe. We keep us safe by delaying, distracting, delegating, maintaining distance between the disrupter and the crowd, and documenting disruptions. Be calm and friendly. Look for and report to peacekeepers in vests for help. Do not interfere with any police actions and do comply with their directions.
Learn how to be safe and keep us all safe. No Kings provides a variety of trainings — scroll down to the recorded sessions and look for Safety, De-escalation, and Know Your Rights trainings.
