Update for June 29 Potluck and July 4th — two fun events!
Potluck: Paint and Snack
Monday, June 29th 5:30 - 7:30 PM at Marie’s — a sign-making event to prepare for July 4th
July 4th 250 Years of Democracy
2 hours: 11 am to 1 PM on Midway Avenue
Come for 15 minutes or a 1/2 hour during this time if you can't make it for the whole time.
This a local Indivisible event!
July 4th 250 Years of Democracy
11 am to 1 PM
Midway Avenue, Grand Coulee, WA
Start across from Safeway at the WayFinders flag -- Midway Avenue and Morrison Street, which is where to go if you have any issues.
Please park on public streets.
This extends our weekly, peaceful WayFinders Action Sign-Waving, usually from 11 am to noon, but today we will walk from 11 am to 1 PM on Midway Avenue in Grand Coulee, WA.
Please bring your friends, your signs, and your most peaceful attitude, even in these intense times. We start our walk across the street from Safeway and include a food drive for the local food bank.
We have a sign library to borrow from, if you don’t have your own.
We recommend a sign sandwich — 3 sign wavers together with two signs telling what we promote and the middle sign what the GOP actions are.
Example:
1 We want Healthcare for All
2 GOP: Cut Medicaid & Medicare is next
3 People want Affordable Healthcare for All
To any haters who drive by, we wave and smile or give them the peace sign. For those who wish to confront us, we will have organizers who are prepared to engage with deescalating dialogue. We invite them to have a water, juice, or a bottle of bubbles.
Courage is contagious. Make your voice heard nonviolently. Please see organizers upon arrival across the street from Safeway by the WayFinders flag.
*A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.*
Notes:
We have water available.
Restrooms are in the park below Grand Coulee Dam in Coulee Dam, restaurants, and Safeway.
We have a group of people who bring chairs and sit with their signs because of mobility issues. You're welcome to join them.
Thank you for joining us as we nonviolently protect our democracy.
Distribution for incidentals like diapers and personal hygiene produces is the second Thursdays of each month at the Care and Share Food Bank.
The last day for Second Thursday this season is June 11th, 11 a.m.
We still have some incidentals: come see us on Saturdays from 11 am to noon on Midway Avenue across from Safeway or contact us at wayfinders155@gmail.com
Friday, May 8th
2:00 - 2:30 Coffee and Chat: No Host
2:30 - 3:30 Town Hall: John will discuss his views of issues affecting our communities and answer questions.

Each Saturday and at the local Harvest Festival, we set up a voter registration booth for those needing to register or change information.
Wayfinders, community members from Nespelem to Electric City, collected teacher and student supplies for our two local school districts, needed because of the loss of funding from the federal government. We brought in almost $5000 of needed supplies.
