Meet the Team

The team is made up of three seniors in the Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering Program at the University of Kentucky.

Maggie Barnes

Major: Biosystems Engineering

Specialization: Power and Machine Systems

Hometown: Champaign, Illinois

Interest in Project: I was drawn to this project because of the heavy mechanical focus. I wanted to work with my hands during senior design, and designing and constructing a water truck arm gives me the perfect opportunity to do so. The fluid component to the project interested me as well.

Elyssa Roberts

Major: Biosystems Engineering

Specialization: Bioprocessing

Hometown: Tifton, Georgia

Interest in Project: I chose this project because it is extremely hands on. This is a project where we will actually be able to see our design come to life. It is also intriguing to work on a machine that is used at horse tracks because I enjoy attending horse races so it is fun to be working with something that is behind the scenes.

TJ Wink

Major: Biosystems Engineering

Specialization: Power and Machine Systems

Hometown: Lexington, Kentucky

Interest in Project: Due to having a great interest in heavy machinery and anything mechanical I was personally very drawn to work on the water truck arm project presented to us. Having the chance to work with a project that is a very hands on experience is very valuable. Given the chance to work on this project allows me to learn many lessons through trial and error early in my career.
