This was a fun hike--easy going until we reached the falls. There was no information about the climb to the falls--sudden, slippery, steep, vertical--but invigorating and exhilarating. This is not for the faint of heart or small children.
We had to climb down and follow the river.
The Donut Falls is the water at the top. Doesn't seem too impressive at this point.
We saw this sign which made me want to turn around but Kurt kept on going. He checked it out and then came back to help me.
The water goes through the donut hole on top and falls into a pool underneath.
You can see the water going in above and then the falls in the cavern.
This is looking straight down the donut hole.
I figured this was the end but Kurt noticed a cable and climbed on up. He explored upstream for another 20 minutes and saw more waterfalls.
The creek is Mill D South Fork Creek.
I sat down most of the way coming off Donut Falls.
This is what we came down.
