Sustainable Community

• Create a mixed, balanced and diverse community where people can realise sustainable work-life patterns
• Waterbeach should be a more self-contained community
• Local residents should have access to sufficient local services (including doctors, pharmacy,
• shops, school places)
• New community to integrate well with existing community
• Timely provision of high quality health and education infrastructure in new development

Housing

• Enable local residents and workers to access appropriate local housing provision

Economic Development

• Develop a balanced economy with a variety and scale of jobs

Design, Conservation & Heritage

• Retain distinctive rural character of the existing settlement
• Maintain the tranquility of the village

Retail

• Amenities along village High Street to thrive and continue to provide essential services to the local community
• Encourage pop ups in the new town/the village

Transport

• Develop a safe, attractive and accessible cycle and footpath network providing good connections from home to workplace and key services
• Congestion in the NP area to be reduced

Green Space & Biodiversity

• Increase access to informal and formal green space
• Maintain and increase biodiversity

Flooding & Drainage

• Flood risk from all sources will be reduced in the Neighbourhood Plan area
