Our city
Moers is a city on the banks of the river Rhine coined by an eventful history and the remnants of the coal industry. Today it offers a range of cultural and recreational facilities and events.
Our region
The Ruhr Area is a former industrial agglomeration in the west of Germany. Once dominated by smoking chimneys, furnaces and mining headframes, it is currently undergoing structural change – away from coal mining and heavy industry towards services, research, technology, innovation, culture and recreation. The most densely populated area in Germany.
