Timeline

The startup of the construction of the new Buddhist shrine of the the school "Yatigalpoththa Kanishta Vidyalaya" was held on 2019.07.21. The necessary funds for the construction were gained by the valuable donations and workforce is by the locals of the Yatigalpoththa area.

The 1st session of the seminar series conducted with Wassana DIyawara project was held on 2019.08.04 successfully. A motivational programme for students of grade 6-11 was held and the O/L seminar covered parts of science and mathematics subjects for grade 10 and 11 students.

The 2nd day of seminar series was held on 2019.08.14 covering Science, Mathematics and English subjects. All these seminars were conducted by the contribution of all medical students of our faculty, despite of the tight academic schedule.

Astronomy night camp and workshop was organized in collaboration with Astronomical Research Institute of Sri-Lanka - ARIS held on 2019.08.24. The workshop was targeted to enhance the enthusiasm of students about the space and astronomy.

The stating ceremony for construction of the new classroom of the school "Yatigalpoththa Kanishta Vidyalaya" was held on 2019.08.28. The necessary funds for the construction were gained by donations and workforce by the locals of the Yatigalpoththa area.

The 3rd session of the seminar series conducted with Wassana DIyawara project was finished on 2019.09.02. The O/L seminar covered parts of Science, English and Mathematics subjects for grade 10 and 11 students of Yatigalpoththa Kanishta Vidyalaya.

The construction of the new class building for the school Yarigalpoththa Kanishta Vidyalaya is on its way. This is the view of the building taken on 2019.10.25.

A Singing, art and essay competition with other teaching activities were held on 2019.10.25 as a motivation programme to develop student skills. The winners of the competitions were awarded with prices.

The 5th step of the O/L seminar series was completed on 2019.11.03. The O/L seminar covered parts of Science, English and Mathematics subjects for grade 10 and 11 students of Yatigalpoththa Kanishta Vidyalaya.

The 6th and the last step of the O/L seminar series conducted by the medical students was successfully ended on 12th November 2019. Apart from the theory knowledge, the O/L past papers also discussed evaluating their knowledge.

The opening ceremony of the new Buddhist shrine, which was a major necessity of Yatigalpotha Kanishta Vidyalaya was held on 2/12/2019. Huge thank on behalf of every local of the area to the volunteers who spent their money and time on this valuable effort.

There was no doubt that these students were so much enthusiastic of sports. What held them back was lack of financial ability to fulfill their wishes. So, we intervened to give them a better childhood; a better school life.

A tree planting session in the area with the students of the Ytigalpoththa Kanishta Vidyalaya was held on the idea of making the future generation more and more environment loving humble personalities.
