This project includes a self-recognition of my social media flaws and history.
Results: "You NEED to get a grip on your social media habits! Scrolling through social media is your number one past time - you're never off the .gram, or TikTok, or Twitter or... (insert your favourite platform here). You spend an excessive amount of your day on social media, feeling that if something isn't recorded and posted on one of your accounts it didn't really happen."
I don't particularly agree with this consensus. I believe it only affects my willingness to get things done, but in the other results, it says that my social relationships with friends, family, and tasks will suffer, like eating and working, and I disagree. If anything, I believe that compared to my peers, my social media consumption is decent.
This is not very new to me, I already knew that most access social media apps all throughout the day. Maybe just the number of times, but when you're addicted, it is truly like a drug.
I think it truly impacts the world in a negative way. It is filled with comparison and envy, along with jealousy and greed. Most people are so involved in other people's lives that they fail to tend to their own, and in the meantime, life continues to pass them by. Though I say this, social media also has its pros; thousands of people have been able to feed their families from it. You just have to use it for good and not use it to hurt yourself.
I learned just the sheer addiction of the average social media consumer in numbers compared to the app, along with a taste of my own self-criticism from taking the quiz and seeing my results.
I didn't use any sources, just my own common knowledge and wisdom.
