One fact I learned that was quite surprising to me was that almost 50% of the population in Haiti has electricity. You might think that is not a good percentage, which is not for the average first-world country. But for a country that is always being portrayed as poor and not having very much, I was quite surprised.
I learned that their population is other than black or descendants of African Americans. I also learned, or I should say relearned, about how to cite sources within Word, giving me proper APA format.
