Q: Is WarpSpeed safe to use at school/work?
A: Yes, we've taken care of the digital part of "safe". Though we can't do anything about people seeing your screen.
Q: Why do some JavaScript and interactive content not work?
A: Displaying hypermedia and JavaScript/Flash is very difficult in a web browser environment. Sorry :(
Q: Who are the people behind WarpSpeed?
A: We like to keep our real identities secret so school admins can't figure out who we are.
Q: Can I watch porn?
A: It's up to you what you want to watch. Keep in mind your screen may be visible to other people in the room.
Q: Can I use WarpSpeed on mobile apps?
A: Currently WarpSpeed only works for web browsing. We are, however, working on a version for non-browsing connections.
Q: Why did you make WarpSpeed?
A: We are advocates for internet freedom. We are tired of being held hostage by school web filters. It's very frustrating to be stuck in a classroom with nothing to do because everything fun is blocked. We feel that everyone should be able to experience the full functionality of the internet without being obstructed by filters, surveillance software, and content blockers.
Q: Is WarpSpeed illegal?
A: There is no federal or state law that restricts the use of this kind of tool. However you may be violating your school's policies by using WarpSpeed; that's why we made it largely undetectable.
Q: How is my data routed?
A: Any data fed through WarpSpeed is routed through a series of proxies before it loads onto your web browser. Because WarpSpeed is not run on client-side, your data stays safe on our servers.
Q: What software does WarpSpeed use?
A: WarpSpeed client/host is completely written from scratch in Java, HTML, and PHP. The only outside software we use is pgRouting, which helps transfer data to and from our servers around the world.
Q: How can I contact you?
A: Go to the contact page. We don't want to give out our real contact info because admins can use it to trace us.
