Basic Composition

For this assignment, we need to learn the basic composition of photograph including the rule of thirds, focal point, horizontal line, and leading line. Before this class, I didn't know how to take good photos. When I first started this assignment, I took random photos of things on our campus, and there's not any of them seems interesting to me. It takes me awhile to figure out how to take the photos at an angle and how to make the photo straight.

This picture uses the rule of third because you eyes go straight to the sign saying "C117 Office", this picture is straight and the line line in the middle separates the colors from yellow and blue.

Leading line: These three photos show an element of leading line by leading you eyes to a point when looking the photo at the first sight, I didn't shoot the photo from where I was standing, I bend down to take the photo which give the viewer a closer look of the path.

Focal point: The focal point of the first photo is the valve, it falls at the bottom right corner of the picture. Focal point of the second photo is the converse at the bottom left, that the person is stepping into the water.

Horizontal line: This uses the element of horizontal line because the steps are straight and go through the picture horizontally.
