Wichita Area Masters Swimming (WAMS) provides swimmers with the opportunity to participate in a lifelong swimming program. All adult swimmers are welcome: fitness, triathlete, competitive, noncompetitive, and open water swimmers. Member Benefits
WAMS is dedicated to enhancing the lives of its members through aquatic physical conditioning. WAMS members enjoy organized practices designed to focus on technique, efficiency, endurance, speed, and power.
Workout Days/Times
WAMS practices take place at Wichita State University'sHeskett Center five days a week:
Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 11:30 a.m.
Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:30 a.m. -- when classes are in session at WSU (but not during the summer)
Saturdays at 1:30 p.m.
Each practice is designed to last 60-75 minutes with coaches providing multiple-level workouts to challenge individual swimmers to reach their personal goals. Check the Heskett Center website for planned closures and intersession schedules for Weidemann Natatorium where the pool is located.
