Waltham Public Schools has always provided abundant extra-curricular opportunities to its students. There has always been a special niche for each student's interest and passion, and many students have advanced in careers fostered by earlier participation in extracurricular programs. The system has been widely recognized for its excellent performing arts and literary activities. Students regularly win Globe Art awards. Many graduates have a copy of the high school’s yearbook “The Mirror” and some of us may recall the Waltham News Tribune column “This Week at Waltham High”. Some clubs promoted interest in jobs like Future Teachers of America. Many of the language clubs contributed to annual holiday parties highlighting the traditions of the languages taught. And Waltham Public Schools has always had sporting spirit!
