Teaching Philosophy and Background

Hello! I am Joyce S. Wallang, a third year student at Benguet State University. I am taking Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Mathematics. I have been passionate on helping children to grow academically and personally in a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

As a beginning teacher, I believe that every child has the potential to succeed when guided with empathy, structure, and purposeful learning experiences. My teaching philosophy is grounded in learner-centered and developmentally appropriate practices that respond to diverse learning needs and backgrounds. I aim to create a safe and respectful classroom where curiosity, collaboration, and critical thinking are encouraged daily.

My interests include integrating technology into instruction, promoting literacy and numeracy, and designing learning experiences that are both engaging and meaningful. I am committed to continuous learning and reflective practice, and I aspire to grow in my profession by aligning my teaching with the Philippine Professional Standards for Teachers (PPST).

In the long term, I hope to become a mentor who supports others in their learning and teaching journey.
