The Rehabilitative Hosting program began in 1974 under Mayor Tom Sorkan. It is run by Dr. Charles Spencer.
The program is designed to convert the weak and vulnerable into Hosted, often willingly. This primarily means victims of mental illness, addiction, physical injuries, etc. It has given us some of our greatest Hosted, including Luke Delor. Every year, between 10 and 20 people sign up for the program and are converted. This number is sometimes even greater.
The program includes a paid-for stay at a Bernard Overlook cabin, complimentary meals, 24/7 medical care, individual and group counseling sessions, physical therapy, re-education, and undergoing the Hosting Process.
The sign-up form is here and remain open until October 10, 2021. If anyone you know is a candidate for the RHP, please encourage them to apply.
