The Bernard Overlook is one of the highest points in Walker Creek County. It is named after Bernard Sanson, who originally owned the land until his death in 1922, after which it was donated to the Walker Creek County government. It is an area near Waterfield Park but technically is not part of it. While it is mainly overgrown with nature, there is a dirt road leading up to two notable points: the Walker Creek Broadcast Station and the Bernard Overlook Campground.
The Bernard Overlook Campground was established in 1938. A handful of lodges were set up in the area, as well as informational plaques and tours of Bernard Sanson's home. There are also scenic overlooks that were built, giving a beautiful view of the vast forest of Waterfield Park. The campgrounds are maintained by the local government and are considered part of Waterfield Park in terms of economic planning. These campgrounds are occasionally used for gathering hosts.
The Walker Creek Broadcast Station was established in 1952. It was built on Bernard Overlook due to its height and its direct line of sight to the optimal location of the WCBS Tower.
