Founders Day is a Walker Creek Holiday celebrated every May 6. It commemorates the founding of Walker Creek County, when Walker Creek, Denton, and Ramsey came together under John Sanders. It is typically celebrated with fireworks and a large party/celebration in Sanders Mine Historical Park with food, games, storytelling, etc. with a large focus on history and community.
In 2021, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there was an online celebration instead. It can be viewed here.
