Welcome

The Wakefield High School Parent-Student-Teacher Association (PTSA) works to build relationships, supporting and advocating for our children, by partnering with staff, administration, families, and the broader community to create a safe and healthy learning environment where students can excel. The mission of PTSA is to make every child's potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for ALL children.

We have many parents who give their time and energy to help with PTSA events, student activities, teacher appreciation events, and the various duties that make the PTSA run smoothly and efficiently. The PTSA includes parents and staff. Its purpose is to support the school, to establish communication and cooperation in the school community, to be an advocate and representative of the school to the public, to encourage parent and community involvement with the school to provide social activities and cross-cultural enrichment activities, and to raise money for the benefit of the school. Money raised has gone to teacher grants, and student enrichment activities of many kinds.

The Wakefield High School Executive Board is an elected body of volunteer parents that coordinate the PTSA functions. The Board recruits membership in the PTSA, oversees various committees and fundraising in an official capacity, makes decisions about disbursement of PTSA funds, responds to teacher and staff requests for PTA assistance, and communicates PTSA actions to the Wakefield Community. These responsibilities are divided among the Board members.
