Students must attend all scheduled classes. Students who do not attend regularly will be asked to meet with the Program Advisor or Director to help them correct this issue or to suggest that you may need to stop out for a period of time until you can fully commit.
Lateness and Tardiness: Excessive lateness or tardiness, defined as 15 or more minutes late for class, may result in attendance consequences.
Attendance Consequences:
Initial Absences: Students who miss more than one class within the first 2 weeks of enrollment will be disenrolled and placed on a waitlist.
Consecutive or Multiple Absences: Students who miss two consecutive classes (i.e. absent both Tuesday and Thursday) or miss two classes in within a two-week period (i.e. Tuesday and Tuesday) will receive a written warning that they are at risk for disenrollment for their first offense.
To remain enrolled, students must attend (2) two consecutive weeks of classes with 100% attendance.
Second Offense: Students who miss two consecutive classes (i.e. absent both Tuesday and Thursday) or miss two classes in within a two-week period (i.e. Tuesday and Tuesday) will receive a written warning that they are at risk for disenrollment.
To remain enrolled, students must attend (3) three consecutive weeks of classes with 100% attendance.
Students who are issued two warnings for lateness or tardiness without documentation will be immediately disenrolled and placed on the waitlist.
Documentation: Students who are absent for (2) two consecutive classes (i.e. Tuesday and Thursday) may be required to provide documentation (e.g, doctor’s note) to verify the reason for the absence.
Waitlist Creation: A waitlist will be created when the number of applicants exceeds available spaces.
Waitlist Placement: Applicants who cannot be immediately enrolled in a program will be placed on a waitlist in the order in which their applications are received. Prospective students will be placed on the waitlist if they fail to attend their intake/orientation twice or do not fully complete their intake/orienation process after two outreach attmepts by staff.
Waitlist Communication: Waitlisted students will be contacted every three months or as needed, depending on program availability. Students will be given two weeks to respond to confirm their interest in remaining on the waitlist.
Waitlist Removal: If a student fails to respond to a waitlist status update within two weeks, they will be removed from the waitlist. To regain a place on the waitlist, they must reapply.
Priority Placement: Students referred by WIOA partners and returning students will be given priority placement when a program seat becomes available.
Seat Availability: When a program seat becomes available, waitlisted students will be contacted in the order in which they were placed on the waitlist. The first student to confirm their interest will be offered the available space.
Waitlist Placement: Students placed on the waitlist due to attendance patterns will be notified of their status and the criteria for re-enrollment.
Re-enrollment: Students on the waitlist due to attendance and/or lateness may be offered an opportunity to re-enroll during the school year based on available space and program capacity.
