Gabby Patarinski, B.S.

Gabby (she/her/hers) is a second year doctoral student in the Clinical Science program at Virginia Tech. Gabby's research focuses on transdiagnostic risk and maintenance factors for eating disorders and comorbid mood disorders. Her specific interests include gender, sexuality, perfectionism, and research involving understudied populations (i.e., LGBTQ+ individuals). Gabby plans to explore  shame and perfectionism’s associations with gender identity, sexuality, and body image in the context of disordered eating. In her free time, Gabby loves spending time with her friends and cats, listening to podcasts or audiobooks, and engaging in creative activities like painting or embroidery.

Jackie Kosmas, M.A.

Jackie (she/her/hers) is a first-year doctoral student in the Clinical Science program at Virginia Tech. She received her BA from Michigan State University and her MA from the University of Chicago. Her master’s thesis investigated the role of stress in the association among food insecurity, eating disorder pathology, and binge eating-related appetitive traits. Her research interests include exploring the relationship between food insecurity and disordered eating, as well as investigating the underlying mechanisms of eating disorders. Jackie is also interested in improving access to eating disorder treatment and leveraging qualitative studies to understand methods to accomplish this. In her free time, she enjoys taking dance classes, playing the flute, and reading. 

Kendall Holloway, M.S.Ed., LPC

Kendall Holloway (she/her/hers) is a second-year doctoral student in the Counselor Education and Supervision program at Virginia Tech. Kendall is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia where she works with individuals experiencing eating disorders. Her research interests include eating disorder supervision and looking into the relationships between Black, Indigenous, and people of color, rural communities, and eating disorders. In Kendall’s free time, she enjoys hiking, trying new restaurants, and reading or listening to audiobooks.
