Resources
We wanted to include the following information in case you are in need of support for your mental health. Please contact Dr. Heather Davis (heatherdavis@vt.edu) if you have any questions about these resources.
Food Access Concerns
If you are having problems accessing food, there are the following resources available to you at Virginia Tech and in the Blacksburg community:
The Market of Virginia Tech is designed to provide food assistance to students who, for whatever reason, have a hard time obtaining regular, healthy meals. Through this program, you may obtain a grocery bag of healthy foods that is enough for roughly seven days' worth of meals. You can email themarket@vt.edu or call the Office of the Dean of Students at 540-231-3787. To sign up for the program, please follow the below link: https://cm.maxient.com/reportingform.php?VirginiaTech&layout_id=15
The 209 Marketplace at Virginia Tech is a donation-based, emergency, local food pantry that provides food, toiletries, and school supplies to students in need. Please learn more at their website: https://www.209marketplace.com
The Interfaith Food Pantry is available to qualified residents of Blacksburg. Please learn more at their website: http://newrivercommunityaction.org/IFP/
