What's the timeline of the competition days?

Who can compete?
Virtual Summer Games is open to anyone with an intellectual disability. You do not have to be a registered athlete to compete.
I have athletes who don't have access to internet or a computer. Can they still compete?
Athletes without computers or internet access can text results to JordanC@SONV.org. Athletes will need to be able to access the info guide to receive the instructions for the skills components.
What if we normally don't participate in Summer Sports, can we still compete?
YES! This is open to anyone, and will include options for Fitness, Basketball & Soccer.
How do I practice?
Athletes can find the instruction for each skills station on the Skills Competition page. For instructions on the live competition skills, tune in to Fitness Week, May 18-22.
Do I need equipment to practice or compete?
Equipment varies by sport. Please see information sheets for further information.
Does my coach need to know that I'm competing?
No, but you may want to let them know so that they can cheer you on!
Do I need to fill out any athlete, young athlete or coach paperwork to compete?
Participants in competition or Young Athletes will need to complete an online waiver. All coaches must be Class A volunteers.
Will I be disqualified if I don't run the exact distance in a track event? Will I be disqualified if I use a basketball hoop that is shorter than 10 feet?
No, we understand that everyone is doing their best and everyone’s at home event set up is different than others. We are more interested in everyone participating and giving their honest effort and attempt. The priority is participation and not disqualification.
