Plurk is a Taiwanese free social networking and microblogging service that allows users to post updates, known as "plurks," through short messages or links. These updates are displayed on the user's home page using a timeline, which lists all the updates received in chronological order. Plurk has a unique feature of horizontal scrolling, which allows users to see more posts running horizontally across the screen, with previous plurks to the right. Users can respond to other users' updates through the Plurk website, private or instant messaging, or text messaging through compatible third party applications. Plurk has a maximum character limit of 360 characters for each update and allows users to view and respond to a thread with up to 300 to 1,000 responses.
