Open space is core to the wellbeing of an energetic city. Recreational opportunities and public parks make for healthy citizens and a vibrant city. We are losing too many of our young families who start out here in our apartments, but when they look to purchase their first home, they turn to other cities that provide these types of community amenities.
Dedicated foot and bike trails, small neighborhood parks, and recreational activities all make for a place that people like to come home to at the end of the work day to enjoy their evenings. We are fortunate to have a full sized 18 hole golf course in our district and access to the Jordan River Parkway trails. We need to look for other opportunities to increase amenities similar to the recently built Cabana Park.
I am dedicated to improving recreational opportunities for our city.
