Von WestLynn's Mad Max
Max has some pretty big shoes to fill, and he's already proving himself more than capable! Following in his mother Pyper's footsteps, Max has taken on his role as my service dog with incredible dedication, intelligence, and heart. He continues to exceed my expectations, and I couldn't be more proud of the dog he's becoming. I have incredibly high hopes for this boy and cannot wait to see everything we accomplish together!
Right now, Max is still young and maturing. I am in absolutely no rush with him. At Von WestLynn I strongly believe that great dogs aren’t rushed, they’re allowed the time they need to develop both mentally and physically. For now he’s just being a young dog, learning, growing, and showing me more of who he is every day. When he is ready, Max will pursue his BH, AD, WB, IGP, and KKL titles, with the long-term goal of hopefully taking him all the way to his IGP-3.
Yes, a service dog can participate in bite work as long as it is done strictly for sport and not for personal protection. IGP is a controlled working sport that highlights a dog’s obedience, tracking, stability, and working ability. Max represents everything I love about this breed, strength, intelligence, loyalty, and heart.
We are all proud of the dog he’s becoming and excited to see the role he may one day play in the future of Von WestLynn German Shepherds.
