While not affiliated with any local Volunteer Fire Department, Volunteer Firefighter Alliance does what it can to assist Volunteer Fire Departments across the nation with fundraising, community outreach, volunteer retention, recruitment, and teaching the public about the many services Volunteer Fire Departments provide everyone in their communities. Volunteer Firefighter Alliance does this through its programs.
The Firefighter Recruitment Program
This program aims to recruit members for Volunteer Fire Departments through national radio and television Public Service Announcements, direct mail, and customized marketing materials to individual departments. Through the Firefighter Recruitment Program, Volunteer Firefighter Alliance has reached a staggering number of people in the country, amounting to over 40 million.
The Fire Prevention Program
Through this program, Volunteer Firefighter Alliance provides free fire prevention materials and education materials to schools, fire departments, senior centers, and any other at-risk groups, including the hearing impaired and other persons with disabilities.
The Crisis Support Helpline
The Crisis Support Helpline of Volunteer Firefighter Alliance gives access to confidential support, resources, and referrals 24/7 by phone for first responders and their families.
The National Firefighter Appreciation Campaign
The National Firefighter Appreciation Campaign not only thanks volunteers but also raises awareness and lets everyone know about the invaluable services volunteer firefighters provide.
