Imitation mechanisms: the case of birds and cars
One of the key mechanisms underlying collective intelligence is imitation. In the case of birds, an individual can "feel" the direction of flight of its peers and correct its trajectory accordingly. This behavior is also observed in car traffic: when one car slows down, those following it tend to do the same, propagating the change in speed along the entire line and potentially causing traffic jams.

This disordered motion helps to create a time lag in the movements of the particles, simulating the interactions that occur in a real swarm.
