A special meeting of the VOFM Table Tennis Club officers was held on October 21, 2025 via Google Meet (virtual meeting). It began at 7:00 PM.

Bill Kouvolo:
Ling Li, Vlad Grapp, and Bill Kouvolo were elected to a new two year term of office (2026 & 2027) by acclamation (see Club Bylaws Article I Section I).
Blue Fencing storage will be placed on the storage room floor in front of folded ping pong tables versus on top of tables.
Exercise club’s wagon of hand weights total 192 pounds - Howard Solganick will build a storage bin to house multiple hand weights. This should resolve the issue of having to move the heavy wagon from being parked in front of our folded tables.
Recommended that table tennis sessions be held at 3 PM on all Thursdays.
Recommended that the Team Reach membership list be updated to show active membership.
MLTT’s Spindex rating app is now available to individual updates versus tournament only.
Bryan Freeman:
Reported that he and Judy Parsons attended the Mathias Habesohn Table Tennis Camp for Seniors (50+) at the Princeton Pong Table Tennis Club in New Jersey.
Learned that his personal paddle was too smooth to better hit aggressive spin shots. Therefore, he purchased a new stickie paddle for $40. Other custom paddles were priced around $100
The Princeton Pong Club is planning to offer a monthly membership for $40 per month that provides daily play at their 13 table facility.

2025 Summer Social Events Proposal ( for 5/13/2025 meeting )
Option I: Social Events with the tournament together. We can pick a 3 PM section and have a potluck after the tournament. That will be the people who come to play regularly.
Option 2: Social Events like 2024 summer, advertise table tennis tournaments in " The Grist" to get more people to play.
We will just have snacks after playing. Require participation to bring their own snacks.
When do we decide to have this tournaments and social events? Should we do it in September, 2025?
I can send a note to The Grist to announce that anyone interested in participating in the tournament should download the TeamReach app on their phone and join the group using the code looping for VOFM Table Tennis.
All tournament and social event details will be shared through the VOFM Table Tennis group on TeamReach.
By doing this, we show that VOFM Table Tennis serves the broader community, not just a small group of residents. This could also support any future funding requests for the club.
After the 7/8/2025 meeting, we are going to have a Social Events in September, 2025. We also need to make an announcement in “The Grist” Ling needs to set up a social events meeting with social commenting to discuss in later July, 2025.

On October 20th, our officers met to learn how to set up and operate the new ball robot.
A wooden cedar chest was purchased from Restore to store the ball machine when not in use. Bill and Vlad installed 4 swivel wheels for ease of movement and hasp with combination lock for security.
Player Ratings (beginner, intermediate, advanced) have been designated for individual players. The USA Table Tennis Rating System Motion has been modified and applied for our use.
A separate Team Reach for Club officers was created to facilitate communication among the club officers.
Bill Kouvolo met with Carol McAloon, our VOFM Board Liaison, regarding budgetary requests. Budget forms are available at the Clubhouse desk to be signed by Club Chairman and Carol McAloon before submitted to the VOFM Treasurer, Brad Barash.

Congrats to the Social Committee for organizing a successful September 24th Social! Ling Li chaired the committee which included Betty Villaume, Fay Hankin, Carol Spear, and Luba Grapp.
Thank you to our VOFM Board for approving the purchase of a new Table Tennis ball robot and robot practice balls! Special thanks to board member, Carol McAloon, who is our Liaison to the board and approved our initial robot request.
Several new members have joined our TT Club after attending our September Social. Welcome!
Our Thursday game sessions have been well attended! In order to facilitate equitable use of our four tables, we have established a ‘routine of play’ that is supervised by volunteer managers, who take charge of determining who plays who and when. We currently have 3 volunteer managers and need to expand that number to help carry the job load. Please consider being a volunteer manager!

Our club was formally recognized by the VOFM Board in January 2017. Membership is open to all residents of the Villages of Flower.
New players are most welcomed! Rackets Are available for your use. Coaching is available for beginning level players.
Club members are not required to sign up to play. Just drop in!
We play doubles on Tuesdays (3 PM) for the fun of it! Doubles provide an opportunity to make new friends, to practice your shot making, and enjoy the game!
We play singles on Thursdays (3 PM) with individuals playing games with other players of their same level (beginner, intermediate, and advanced).
The Team Reach App is available to share pertinent club information.
Special thanks to Carol McAloon, who in her role as VOFM Board Member and club liaison, has supported our budget requests for the purchase of a new table tennis table and much needed ping pong equipment. When we had an issue with sunshine glare from the ballroom exit doors that didn’t have shades, Carol was very instrumental in resolving the problem by researching and finding velcro attached door shades for our use!
