Help with Vocab Vault, the GRE vocabulary app from EduStar Studio. If you cannot find what you need below, email us — a real person reads every message.
Email: edustarstudio@gmail.com
We read every message and reply as quickly as we can. To help us answer on the first try, please include:
• The email address you use to sign in
• Your device model and iOS/Android version
• The app version, shown in Settings under Help & about, then About
• What you expected to happen, and what happened instead
You can also send feedback from inside the app: Settings, then Help & about, then Send feedback. That reaches us with your app version and device details already attached.
1. Create an account with your email address, or use Sign in with Apple or Google.
2. Choose how many new words you want to learn each day. You can change this later.
3. Open a deck and tap Learn new words to start your first batch.
4. Read the word, take a guess, then tap the card to reveal the meaning.
5. Rate how well you recalled it: Again, Hard, Good, or Easy.
Vocab Vault schedules each word using FSRS, a spaced repetition algorithm. Words you find hard come back sooner; words you know well come back later. That is why you will not see every word every day.
How do the daily batches work?
Your deck is split into daily batches based on the pace you chose. Learn new words always opens your first unfinished batch, so a session stays one day's worth of new material. Every batch is unlocked, so if you miss a day you can pick up any unfinished one whenever it suits you.
What do Again, Hard, Good and Easy mean?
They describe how easily you recalled the word, and they drive the schedule. Again means you did not recall it, and the word returns later in the same session. Hard, Good and Easy push the next review progressively further out.
Can I change how often words come back?
Yes. Settings, then Learning, then Repetition preferences. You can adjust your target retention and the longest interval between reviews. Higher retention means more frequent reviews and more work per day.
Can I change my daily pace?
Yes. Settings, then Learning, then Study settings.
Does the app work offline?
Yes. Decks you have already opened are stored on your device, so you can study without a connection. Your progress syncs the next time you are online and signed in.
Can I add my own notes to a word?
Yes. Open any word and add your own notes and memory cues. They sync with the rest of your progress.
How do I change my display name or password?
Open the Profile tab. You can edit your name there, and change your password if you signed up with an email address.
I forgot my password.
Use the "Forgot password" link on the sign-in screen. We will email you a reset link. If you originally signed in with Apple or Google, you do not have a password with us — use that same button to sign in again.
Can I use Sign in with Apple and hide my email?
Yes. If you choose to hide your email, Apple gives us a private relay address instead, and our messages still reach you through it.
How do I delete my account?
Open the Profile tab and choose Delete account. This permanently removes your account and the learning data attached to it. You can also email us with the subject line "Delete my account" from the address you signed up with; we will process it within 30 days and confirm once it is done.
Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription. Cancel that separately in your App Store account settings.
How does sync work?
While you are signed in, your progress uploads automatically so it is available on your other devices and survives changing or resetting a phone.
My progress is missing on a second device.
Check that you are signed in with the same account on both, then open Settings, Cloud sync, and tap Sync Now on the device that has the progress. Give it a moment before checking the other device.
How do I remove my data from the cloud?
Settings, then Cloud sync, then Remove data from cloud. Your progress stays on the device you are using; only the copy on our servers is removed.
How do I set a study reminder?
Settings, then Learning, then Daily reminder. Pick the time that suits you.
I am not getting reminders.
Check that notifications are allowed for Vocab Vault in the iOS Settings app, under Notifications. If permission was declined when you first installed the app, it has to be re-enabled there rather than in Vocab Vault.
What does Pro include?
• An ad-free experience
• Premium decks
• Cloud backup of your learning data
What does it cost?
Pro is an auto-renewing subscription available monthly, every six months, or yearly. The current price for your country is shown in the app before you confirm anything.
How do I restore a purchase?
Settings, then Restore. Make sure you are signed in to the same Apple Account that bought the subscription. Restoring does not charge you again.
How do I cancel?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not by us. Open the iOS Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then Vocab Vault. Cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, or it renews. You keep Pro until the end of the period you have paid for.
Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
I want a refund.
Apple handles all purchases and refunds for the App Store; we cannot issue them. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. If something went wrong on our side, email us with the subject line "Billing Issue – Vocab Vault" and we will help where we can.
I paid but Pro is not active.
Try Settings, then Restore, while signed in to the Apple Account that made the purchase. If it still does not unlock, email us with the date of purchase and we will look into it.
Why am I seeing ads?
Ads support the free tier. They appear as a full-screen ad at the end of a study session, never in the middle of one, and no ad is ever required in order to study. Vocab Vault Pro removes them.
Are ads personalized?
No. Vocab Vault does not track you across other apps and websites, and it serves non-personalized ads.
How do I change my advertising consent?
Where consent applies in your region, a Privacy options row appears in Settings. It reopens the consent form so you can change your choice.
Where is my data stored?
Your learning data is stored in an encrypted database on your device, and synced to our servers while you are signed in so it is available on your other devices.
The app will not open, or closes straight away.
Force-quit the app and reopen it. If that does not help, restart your device, then check for an app update in the App Store. If it persists, email us with your device model and iOS version.
A deck will not download.
Decks download over the internet the first time you open them. Check your connection, then try again. On a restricted network, a VPN or content filter can block the download.
My streak or statistics look wrong.
Statistics are calculated from your local study history, and update when a session ends. If a session was interrupted, finish or exit it cleanly and check again. If the numbers still look wrong, email us and describe what you expected.
• iPhone running iOS 15.6 or later
• An account, created with email, Apple, or Google
• An internet connection to download decks and sync; studying downloaded decks works offline
