Digital Privacy – maintaining good practices online so that personal info isn’t leaked 

Encryption – software that essentially creates an unreadable proxy document, which is saved until the correct user opens it, when it will be unencrypted; used to secure files 

VPN - an encrypted IP address that can be based and accessed from anywhere 

Privacy Policy – a legal document, created by the owners of the app or website, that explains how data it collects will be used 

Malware - malicious software 

Social Engineering – a type of peer pressure; malicious people will create/engineer situations where important data can be stolen 

Phishing - emails that copycat legitimate emails, only to send the user to sites that force them to download malware 

Ransomware - malware that locks tech and demands money
