This project is made to show us how much social media addiction affects our lives, and how prevent it is. Reading about how social media is mainly harmful to others, alongside the fact that social media use has "leveled off", makes me believe that our society is, thankfully, starting to make a turn away from apps like Instagram & TikTok (Auxier, 2021).
Social Media has a massive effect on the lives on everyone who is alive right now, as it is the main way we (including new stations) circulate information. We have a monkey's paw-esque curse, because we have access to more information now than ever in known history, but we have so much of it that we can force ourselves into microcosms of information. Since confirmation bias is more prevalent now than ever, we have the responsibility top make sure we consume information from credible and legitimate sources. I do generally thing social media is good for society, as it could be used as a way to unify us in the coming years.
It is crazy that every single one of us has the ability to publish our thoughts,
I learned that, though social media seems to be everywhere from school to shopping, it has been doing worse than it originally did. This makes me happy because I don't like people having to make idealised versions of themselves for the internet. I hope we can move forward together towards posting our accomplishments, and things we are proud of, so that we can make the internet and more accepting and nurturing place.
