Dr. Touhidur Rahman is a seasoned academic and researcher with a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and prior degrees from BUET. He has conducted postdoctoral research at Oak Ridge National Laboratory and served as a visiting research assistant professor at the University of Notre Dame. His expertise spans low-power and high-speed VLSI, analog IC design, CMOS process development, and power management. With over 40 publications, including 2 US patents and multiple journal and conference papers, Dr. Rahman brings extensive experience in semiconductor device physics, modeling, and fabrication. He is also deeply committed to advancing VLSI education and research.

Atoshe Islam is a Senior Research Assistant in the VLSI Research Team at BRAC University. Her work includes a comprehensive 9T standard cell framework using GPDK045, accepted at ICCIT 2024, aimed at bridging VLSI education with industry practices. She is also working on FIR Filter Place-and-Route using SkyWater 130nm PDK, showcasing her expertise in both digital design and open-source hardware methodologies.

Rifah Taspiah Mitee is currently pursuing her undergraduate degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at BRAC University. She has developed a strong academic interest in the field of Very Large Scale Integration (VLSI) technology, which plays a vital role in the design and development of modern electronic systems. Her research focuses on the development and optimization of VLSI systems, particularly exploring efficient chip design, low-power architecture, and the integration of complex functionalities in miniature circuits. She is passionate about pushing the boundaries of microelectronics and aims to contribute to the advancement of scalable and high-performance semiconductor technologies. Through her academic and research pursuits, Rifah is building a foundation to address future challenges in electronics and semiconductor industries, with a vision to be part of transformative innovations in the tech world.
Munirun Nessa is a Research Assistant in the VLSI Research Team at BRAC University, specializing in RTL-to-GDSII design using open-source tools and SkyWater 130nm PDK. She has submitted a 41-Tap FIR Filter project to IPPR 2025 and is currently working on AI-driven FIR filter optimization using LMS/RLS algorithms, integrating machine learning with hardware design for real-time signal processing.

Shabbir Hoshen Suvo is a member of the VLSI Research Team, specializing in Power & Electronics and semiconductor technology. His research journey began during his education at BRAC University, where he earned both MSc & BSc degrees in EEE, which sparked his expertise and led to joining Huawei as a System Engineer. He has developed a strong foundation in semiconductor fabrication, photovoltaics, and MOSFET development with 6 international conference papers to his credit. Shabbir is actively working to drive innovation in HV & LV power solutions while making meaningful contributions that bridge academia and industry.
Shehabun Laila is a dedicated researcher in the field of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, with a strong academic background and a passion for sustainable energy solutions. She earned her Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree from BRAC University, where she deepened her knowledge in advanced electrical systems and emerging technologies. She also holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree from East Delta University, where she laid the foundation for her expertise in electrical engineering. Her primary research interests focus on renewable energy and microgrid systems. She is particularly interested in exploring how decentralized energy networks can be optimized to enhance energy efficiency, sustainability, and reliability—especially in regions with limited access to traditional power infrastructure. Through her work, Shehabun aims to contribute to the development of cleaner, smarter, and more resilient energy solutions that can support global efforts toward energy transition and climate resilience.
Shyeem Rahman is currently working as an IC Physical Design Engineer at Ulkasemi Canada Ltd., where he specializes in the layout and design of integrated circuits for advanced semiconductor applications. He brings a strong foundation in digital system design and hardware architecture, supported by hands-on experience in chip implementation and fabrication processes. His academic thesis focused on the development of a custom RISC-V Central Processing Unit (CPU), utilizing the open-source Google + SkyWater 130nm Process Design Kit (PDK). Through this project, Shyeem explored the full design flow—from RTL to layout—while leveraging open-source tools to create a fully functional CPU architecture. His work demonstrates a deep commitment to the open hardware movement and highlights the potential of democratizing chip design through accessible technologies. With a passion for innovation in the semiconductor industry, Shyeem aims to contribute to the development of energy-efficient, high-performance computing systems using cutting-edge design methodologies.
