📢 Don't miss the chance to learn from industry experts!
Key Areas to focus!!!
📌 MOSFET Analog Circuit Design – Uses Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor Field-Effect Transistors (MOSFETs) for processing continuous signals in applications like audio systems, filtering, and sensors.
📌 AI-Driven VLSI – Incorporates artificial intelligence into semiconductor design and manufacturing, automating tasks like layout optimization and performance prediction to improve efficiency and handle growing complexity.
You can explore these topics hands-on in our upcoming VLSI workshops!
BRACU students Zaiyan Azad Moslem, Mohammad Habibul Hassan Khan, and Abhishek Datta have been selected for the Ulkasemi VLSI Internship under Dr. Touhidur Rahman’s supervision. They recently completed a 5-day industrial training covering RTL design, layout, physical design, and analog circuits. The training provided practical experience and applied their classroom knowledge. They credit Dr. Rahman’s workshops for preparing them well. VLSI@BRACU congratulates the students and wishes them success in their VLSI careers.
Final Year Design Project-2025
Team G8 from EEE, BRAC University, under the supervision of Dr. Touhidur Rahman, presented their FYDP project:
“Design and Development of a Smart Water Quality Monitoring and Management System for Shrimp Hatchery.”
Using Arduino, ESP32, and IoT sensors, the system monitors water conditions in real time, automates control, and stores data on ThingSpeak. It reduces manual labor, cuts chemical use by 50%, improves shrimp yield and survival, and is scalable for smart farming.
VLSI@BRACU is proud to support sustainable Agri-Tech innovations.

The “RTL Design & Introduction to Cadence” course concluded its four parts on the 9th of May, 2025.
In the four sessions, participants explored VLSI flows, CMOS technology, and layout design while taking advantage of industry standards in Cadence tools.
Certificates of completion were issued to participants today. We congratulate all participants for their commitment and involvement in the course.
We thank each one of you for attending with us on this learning journey through VLSI@BRACU. More to come!
We had the privilege of hosting Dr. S. Khalid Azim, who shared his deep expertise on VLSI design, semiconductor innovation, and industry trends. His session covered a range of insightful topics, including:
✅ Business opportunities in chip development
✅ The journey from proof of concept to ASIC
✅ Advancements in Physical Reservoir Computing (PRC) for MEMS sensors
Dr. Azim also engaged in an interactive Q&A session, offering valuable industry knowledge and career advice to students. It was an enriching experience for all, and we are grateful for his time and insights!
Apurba Paul, an EEE graduate from BRAC University, is now making strides in the VLSI industry as Engineer-1 at Neural Semiconductor Limited. During his university days, he worked under Dr. T.R. Sir, gaining hands-on experience in VLSI design.
He recently joined us at the AI-Driven VLSI Workshop, where he shared his journey from university to the professional VLSI world. His insights helped students understand the transition from academia to industry, inspiring many to pursue careers in semiconductor design.
