Midterm Reflection

10/22/20 Midterm reflection

This teacher is tired. I am forever behind in my reading and writing for this class. On the other hand, I am constantly reflecting on how to improve ELD student literacy engagement in my ELD and ELA classes. I like to find humor in all that I do. I read an article entitled "Just Do this: Tips for Teaching Hybrid Learning" this morning from McSweeney's. The article was a "terrifying" (that's my word) list of teacher responsibilities in the time of covid. It is humorous in its intent, but frighteningly real.

I am catching up on my reading and writing for this class. I am constantly reflecting on how to improve. I read and am looking for current "guidance" for effectively teaching literacy online. My literacy colleagues are struggling too. Instead of acting like we know it all, we are meeting to support one another.
