The Permata Experience

One of the most stressful periods ever. Without the help of my teammates, none of the final outcome could be possible and completed. We complained, argued, but we only got closer and worked together as a team effort. 

The Permata Experience truly was a piece of work.

My first contribution to the project involved creating multiple deliverables for the social media marketing campaign. This included working with Blender, a software I had not encountered in my school modules, to produce essential AR deliverables. These AR deliverables comprised 3D models for the Gedung Kuning house and various models for the hat filter, crucial elements for the campaign. Taking up most of the social media campaign's deliverables made me feel valuable as a team member, and I took pride in contributing to the project's overall success.

Secondly, I had a good understanding of camera and filming equipment, which proved beneficial during our visit to Permata. During this time, we conducted interviews with two significant figures from the restaurant, and I took charge of directing and identifying suitable shooting locations for the interviews. Being entrusted with directing camera placements provided me with valuable learning experiences that will be advantageous in the future.

Lastly, I had the responsibility of creating all social media graphic posts. From concept planning to execution, I sought feedback from peers for continuous improvement and successfully completed all relevant deliverables for the project. This role allowed me to showcase my creativity and organizational skills, further contributing to the project's overall achievements.

Three valuable lessons I learned during the project were to avoid getting emotionally attached to the work, emphasize effective communication, and be cautious about teaming up with friends. Initially, I would take great pride in my completed deliverables, but receiving unsatisfactory feedback and numerous revisions from the team leader was demoralizing. This taught me to be prepared for the possibility of less favorable outcomes and to maintain a more objective approach.

I realized that effective communication was vital for the project's success, whether it involved peers, team members, clients, or lecturers. Actively engaging in conversations, taking feedback seriously, and considering others' thoughts were essential for collaboration and improvement.

Another important lesson was regarding team dynamics. Working with close friends led to quarrels and disagreements, which sometimes strained our friendship. However, as the project progressed, we learned to overcome these challenges, and communication improved, ultimately strengthening our bond and resolving tensions.
