Apps For Volume and Clarity Enhancement
Common functions of apps to address hearing loss are:
Boosting of selected audio frequency ranges
This function is commonly known as 'frequency compensation', an 'equalizer', or a 'tone' control. When installed on a smartphone, tablet, or PC/MAC, the app enables the user to select a volume increase for their hearing loss frequency ranges. These apps will generally work with streamed music and podcasts and may also work with internet calling apps.

Microphone apps
These Apps use the internal microphone of the phone or tablet to pick up a person's voice, music, or other local sounds. The phone processes the audio and amplifies the sound to the user through the speaker, a headset, earbuds, or a neckloop.
As with hearing aids, the device's microphone can only capture clear audio within a short range of up to six or so feet.
