What to Bring: Taxpayers must have a valid government-issued photo ID and a Social Security Card or ITIN for each person listed on the tax return. Taxpayers must also bring any tax documents such as W-2s, 1099-Rs, SSA-1099s, 1099-MISC, 1099-NEC and any other tax documents.
How Your Taxes Are Prepared: Each taxpayer will be required to complete an INTAKE/INTERVIEW information form that will
be used to review your tax status and documents prior to preparing your tax return. You must be present while the IRS-certified tax
counselor prepares your taxes. A second tax counselor will perform a quality review of your completed return to
ensure accuracy. A tax counselor will review your completed tax return with you, and you will be required to sign a release form
acknowledging that you take full responsibility for the information in your tax return. After you sign the release form, the Tax-Aide
counselor will electronically transmit your federal and Virginia tax returns. You will be given a paper copy of your completed tax
returns along with all of your tax documents.
