Days and times for Tax Preparation:

• Wednesdays & Fridays 8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.; Saturdays 8:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. 

All tax returns are prepared by appointment only.

There are two ways to set an appointment:

• By Saturday, January 24, 2026, you may sign-up for an appointment using our online appointment setting system.

  • Go online to https://henricotaxaidecalendars.as.me/ to access the appointment setting system.

  • If you use the online system, you still need to come to the Eastern Henrico Recreation Center Reception Counter to pick up your “packet.” You must complete an Intake/Interview Form prior to your appointment.

• Starting Wednesday, February 11, 2026, and each Wednesday, Friday and Saturday thereafter, you may sign up with a Tax-Aide volunteer in the tax preparation room at the Eastern Henrico Recreation Center between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and on Saturdays between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. If possible, please bring your prior year tax return when you come to set up your appointment. Please use this method if you have questions about the appointment setting process or your tax situation.

At your In-person tax preparation appointment, you will have an in-depth interview and wait while your return is prepared. You will sit with the counselor who prepares your return. There will then be a Quality Review. Your tax return will be printed and reviewed with you. After you sign the transmittal form, it will be electronically filed with the IRS and the Virginia Department of Taxation. You will take the printed copy and all your tax documents when you leave. This process will take 1 ½ to 2 hours. Please bring your previous year’s tax return to this appointment.
