The Vision: I captured this at the Monterey Bay Aquarium’s jellyfish exhibit. I was drawn to the intense contrast between the deep blue water and the glowing amber jellyfish, which appear illuminated by the light above the tank. Including the silhouettes of people peering in, especially the small girl, adds a sense of scale and captures a quiet moment of discovery and curiosity.

The Vision: I captured this massive tank at the Monterey Bay Aquarium because I was fascinated by its scale. The Vision: I captured this in a circular exhibit at the Monterey Bay Aquarium where the fish were constantly swimming around the room. I was fascinated by the sheer number of fish and the way the light made their scales shine as they moved. I think the repetition of their shapes creates a really cool pattern that fills the entire frame.

The Vision: I captured the iconic Back to the Future DeLorean at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles. I was drawn to its classic design and the way the stainless steel body creates a chrome-like shine under the museum lights. It felt like a piece of history that deserved to be documented, and I love how the open gull-wing doors add to its unique silhouette.

The Vision:I took this at Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park. I liked the composition of the two park signs standing side-by-side with the massive redwood tree towering directly behind them. I wanted to capture the contrast between the man-made markers and the natural scale of the forest. The lighting creates a nice, natural atmosphere that makes you feel like you are just beginning a hike.

The Vision: I took this while riding the small train through Henry Cowell. The train stopped to let us explore for a few minutes, which gave me the chance to get a low-angle shot of the tracks. I wanted to capture the contrast between the weathered wood of the old tracks and the massive, towering redwoods in the background. It feels like a doorway into the heart of the forest.
