I completed my BSc degree at the University of Cape Town (UCT) in 2009 with a triple major in Physics, Archaeology, and Environmental Science. During 2011-2016, I was awarded a Clarendon Scholarship to undertake MSc and DPhil studies at the University of Oxford. I was based in the radiocarbon lab there, but had broad research interests - particularly in developing instrumentation. In 2016, I joined the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences, at the University of Rochester, NY, USA, as a postdoctoral associate. In 2018 I returned to UCT as a postdoctoral scholar, and was appointed as Lecturer, in 2019 (promoted to Senior Lecturer in 2022). This position is associated with the Stable Light Isotope Laboratory, which is based in the Department of Archaeology, but serves scholars across the Earth and life sciences. What excites me, particularly, is finding new applications of isotope science across all these fields. During 2020-2021, I was Academic Visitor in the Carbon Cycle research group, at Imperial College London. See full CV below.
