College of Pharmacy commenced in 1994 with an intake of 60 students in independent premises of Foundation. Presently the Institute has four PG courses and a PHD Research Centre . Dr. Vithalrao Vikhe Patil Foundation is actively engaged in serving society and rural area since 1982. We believe in excellence and we add value to our student’s over all personality. The aim is to provide specialized high quality education to build professionals, technical and pharmaceutical industry. To explore the frontiers of knowledge from industry through independent research, as well as in collaboration with other entities in business or education. To equip the students with high level of conceptual, analytical and descriptive abilities to handle problems. Strong interaction with business and industry particularly in the teaching, seminars, training and placement in various industries. We have separate Training and placements officer which look after the placements activities of campus.
During the last four decades, with the inspiration from Dr Vithalrao Vikhe Patil, other educational institutions have emerged like Pravara Rural Education Society, Pravara Medical Trust, Dr. Vikhe Patil Foundation, Pune these are the quality and value-centered educational institutions imparting values added technical education.
College of Pharmacy library:
COP library is a very special place in the Dr. Vithalrao Vikhe Patil Foundation campus, with its rich collection of books and journals, e-journals, CDs etc. in the field of Pharmacy. It is a most lively place on the campus providing a comfortable and friendly environment that enables learning and advancement of knowledge. COP Library offers the resources and encourages the thinking process, creativity, inquisitiveness and makes the leaning process more fruitful. The function of the library is to provide textbooks, references, periodicals research conducted till date on various subjects to students, teachers and researchers.
Aim & Objectives of COP Library: The Library’s aim is providing effective information services to students; faculty members with improved and easy access to the latest information & projects and creates a healthy learning environment.
To provide a wide range of resources in varying formats to meet the needs of the students.
To develop an interest in reading through interactions that allow students to experience different Forms of literature.
To provide services and technologies to allow maximum access to information.
To provide facilities that are flexible and accommodate students needs and emerging

Collection development policies support education and grooming of students to succeed, serve and lead in a diverse Local and Global community. The library will support current and an anticipated need of users in peruses its mission to further teaching and learning activities of the university community. The library will continue to provide an inviting physical environment, where students, faculty and staff can obtain needed information regardless of location or format. The library will provide traditional collection of library materials, balanced with the acquisition of virtual information resources. Professional expertise is employed, incorporating an “educational philosophy” with a service ethic, utilizing evolving technologies to achieve desired goals. Orientation and assistance will be provided to assist library users to fully utilize the resources and services of the library and to develop information literacy skills that will enhance lifelong learning.

The institute library has an “Advisory Committee” comprising of senior faculty members and is chaired by the Principal. The Library is enriched with more than 17500 library collection and subscribes 30 hard bound journals and periodicals annually. Library holds 317 M. Pharm research thesis in its collection. Library collection is organized subject wise on rack for easy access to the students and staff members. Library has good collection of books on pharmacy and allied subjects. Apart from this library houses more than 500 books on competitive exam. The library has a separate reference section having collection of number of reference books, which includes collective encyclopedias, year book, handbook and Pharmacopeias. Users are allowed to use these books in reading room only. Publications published by faculties are available. Question paper bank is also available. Library provides open access to under graduate and post graduate students. The internet and download facility is available to students and faculty members. Students can issue maximum two books per day.
Library Automation:
The college library is automated from 2006. College uses Digisoftlib software (SyNchRonik). Nature of software is fully automated and with version 5.3. All books are bar-coded for circulation and administrative purpose. The library is having well furnished aircondion reading room. The library is under CCTV surveillance. OPAC system is available with one terminal in the library for searching library collection according to title, author, publisher and subject for easy assessment of available title.
Year Wise Library Growth:
The following table shows the year wise collection development of books added to the library along with the increasing expenditure rations suggests that library is having rich collection.
Growth of COP Library:
Figure 1- indicates the graphical presentation of the year wise growth of the library books received books from regular purchase and books received from book bank scheme. Total collection from establishment year 1994 to 2023.
Presently COP library have total 17777 volumes and 2815 titles available in the library. Figure 2- indicates the graphical presentation of the subjectwise growth of the library.
