Dr. Vijay V. Nair is presently serving as Assistant Professor in the School of Engineering at the Chanakya University, Bengaluru. Dr. Vijay received Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from IIT Madras. He received the University Rank for being fourth in B.E. (Civil Engineering) at VTU Belagavi, India, and specialized in Environmental Engineering (M.Tech.) at the NITK Surathkal. Dr. Vijay had undergone training at one of the pioneer labs in the country, CSIR - NEERI, Nagpur.
Dr. Vijay has over three years of teaching and research experience within the broad fields of Civil & Environmental, and Sustainable Engineering, addressing the nexus among sustainability, resiliency, infrastructure, water, and the environment. His research proposals had won grants from Vision Group on Science and Technology (Government of Karnataka) and VTU.
His research expertise includes:
(1) Landfill Engineering & Solid-state Bioreactor Technology;
(2) Solid and hazardous waste management, waste containment;
(3) Characterization & Engineering applications of waste/recycled materials.
His research includes laboratory studies, field experiments, and computer modeling, ultimately leading to fundamental advances and practical solutions to the real-world problems. Dr. Vijay has served as reviewer for Cleaner Water, ASCE Journal of Hazardous, Toxic and Radioactive Waste, Heliyon, International Journal of Energy and Water Resources, and Advances in Materials & Processing Technologies.
