Dr. Vijay V. Nair is presently serving as Assistant Professor in the School of Engineering at the Chanakya University, Bengaluru. Dr. Vijay received Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras. He received the University Rank for being fourth in B.E. (Civil Engineering) at Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi, India, and specialized in Environmental Engineering (M.Tech.) at the National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal. Dr. Vijay had undergone training at one of the pioneer labs in the country, CSIR - NEERI, Nagpur. 

Dr. Vijay has over three years of teaching and research experience within the broad fields of Civil & Environmental, and Sustainable Engineering, addressing the nexus among sustainability, resiliency, infrastructure, water, and the environment. His research proposals had won grants from Vision Group on Science and Technology (Government of Karnataka) and Visvesvaraya Technological University. 


His research expertise includes: 

(1) Physico-chemical treatment of water and wastewater; 

(2) Solid and hazardous waste management, waste containment, and landfill engineering; 

(3) Characterization and engineering applications of waste/recycled materials; and 

(4) Environmental engineering. 

His research includes laboratory studies, field experiments, and computer modeling, ultimately leading to fundamental advances and practical solutions to the real-world problems. Dr. Vijay has served or currently serves as reviewer for ASCE Journal of Hazardous, Toxic and Radioactive Waste, Heliyon, and Advances in materials & processing technologies.
