Start with youth. Listen across the ward.
The experiences of young people deserve more attention in city decisions. Ward 7’s neighbourhoods are not all alike. I will listen to residents about the issues on their streets and pursue practical work within the City’s responsibilities.
More places for youth to belong
Young people need welcoming spaces and opportunities to participate in community life. I want to hear from them, their families, schools, and local organizations about access to recreation, activities, and places to gather. The goal is to identify what is available, what is hard to reach, and where City partnerships or facilities could make a difference.
• Listen directly to youth about the spaces and activities they would use.
• Examine access to municipal recreation and community facilities.
• Look at how transit connects young people to opportunities.
Reliable transit close to home
Transit affects the ability to get to school, work, appointments, and social activities. I want residents to show me where trips are difficult and examine service information with Transit Windsor before proposing changes.
• Bring specific Ward 7 concerns about routes, frequency, and connections forward.
• Ask how proposed changes affect riders in different parts of the ward.
• Keep accessibility and the needs of people who depend on transit in view.
Neighbourhood needs and safety
Residents may raise concerns about sidewalks, traffic, lighting, roads, parks, or feeling safe. The concern can differ from one part of Ward 7 to another. I will not assume a single issue describes every neighbourhood.
• Document concerns by location and direct service requests to the appropriate City process.
• Review municipal information and ask questions about priorities and timelines.
• Work with residents and relevant agencies when a concern needs more than one response.
Responsible city spending
Households are watching costs, and City Council must make choices about services and infrastructure. I will ask what a proposal costs, whom it serves, what evidence supports it, and how residents can understand the trade-offs.
• Read budgets and staff reports carefully.
• Explain significant decisions in plain language.
• Consider long-term maintenance as well as the initial cost.
These are commitments to work and listen, not claims that every issue has the same answer across Ward 7.
