Listening first. Working with people.
I’m Victoria Soluade, a candidate for Windsor City Councillor in Ward 7. My experience in business, advocacy, and public service has shown me how much it matters to be heard and to receive a clear answer.
My story
I came to Canada from Nigeria and lived in Toronto before moving to Windsor, which I now call home. Before immigrating, I worked in aviation and founded a travel business. In Canada, I built a career as a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant and travel professional, helping individuals and families plan important steps in their lives.
I am now studying Political Science part-time at the University of Windsor. As a Director-at-Large with the Organization of Part-time University Students (OPUS), I support student advocacy and pay attention to the barriers that people face when they are balancing education with other responsibilities. I also serve on the board of the Black Council of Windsor-Essex.
These roles have taught me to listen, research the issue, and work with others toward a practical answer. I am running because I want Ward 7 residents to have a councillor who is accessible and serious about bringing their concerns to City Hall.
What I bring to this campaign
• Experience running businesses and serving clients over many years.
• Advocacy for part-time students and involvement in community organizations.
• A commitment to clear communication and careful decisions.
• Firsthand experience of building a life in Windsor as a newcomer.
I want to learn from the people who know their streets, parks, schools, and daily journeys best. Your experience should inform the work ahead.
